"Hey Girl, You Can’t Pour From an Empty Cup (And That’s Okay)"
Let’s talk about her.
You know, the one who’s always showing up. The one who remembers birthdays, checks in on friends, volunteers, works hard, prays harder, and keeps everything running when everyone else is running on fumes.
If you’re reading this and thinking, “Well, that sounds a little too familiar…” — yeah, this one's for you.
You’re the Pourer
You pour into your job.
You pour into your family.
You pour into your friends, your business, your ministry, your people.
But here’s the real question: when’s the last time you poured into YOU?
And I’m not just talking about bubble baths and a coffee run (though those things are lovely). I’m talking about real soul-deep replenishing. The kind that fills your heart and reminds you that you matter too.
Let’s Be Honest...
It feels good to be needed. To be the one people count on. But being the strong one all the time gets heavy. And girl, even God rested. Let that sink in.
Signs You Might Need a Refill:
-
You feel burnt out, but keep pushing anyway.
-
You say “yes” when your soul is screaming “please say no.”
-
You’re running on caffeine, obligation, and Jesus.
-
You’re so used to giving, you forgot how to receive.
Sound familiar? You're not alone. So many women are quietly running on empty because slowing down feels selfish. Spoiler alert: it’s not.
Here’s Your Permission Slip:
Take a day off.
Say “not this time.”
Turn your phone off.
Buy yourself that candle.
Write in that journal.
Take a walk with no destination.
Sit in God’s presence and say nothing at all.
Replenishing Isn’t a Luxury—It’s a Necessity
You’re not less spiritual, less strong, or less valuable because you need a break. You’re human. Even Jesus stepped away from the crowds to rest and pray. If He did it, why do we feel guilty about doing the same?
A Gentle Reminder
You were never meant to live exhausted and emotionally bankrupt. You can’t give your best to others if you’re giving yourself the leftovers. Replenishing your soul helps you show up better for everyone around you—including yourself.
So next time you feel the pressure to be “on” all the time, remember this:
You’re allowed to be a masterpiece and a work in progress at the same time. And you, my friend, are worth pouring into.
